The Tyrone craobh of Saoradh and the IRPWA are pleased to announce the official opening of our new office, Kevin Barry House, in Market Square Dungannon on the 4th of February 2018 at 3pm. Following a Prisoner picket in Ann Street at 2pm.
The party is going from strength to strength in the Tyrone area with several upcoming events and a substantial increase in both local activism and party membership. This activity is reflected in the opening of our new office in the famous town’s centre. We in Saoradh and the IRPWA believe that Market Square, which in recent history has been a cold house for Irish Republicans in the area, constantly draped in the British Union flag, is the ideal place for us to set up our new office and continue to expand and grow in the local community.
The office will be named “Kevin Barry House” in honour of Volunteer Kevin Barry, who was hanged by the British in Mountjoy gaol on the 1st of November 1920. It is apt that the offices of Saoradh and the IRPWA will be located on the site of the old McAleer’s Hotel in the town centre, the very hotel in which Kevin stayed while in Dungannon shortly before returning home to Dublin, where his life was subsequently cruelly extinguished at the hands of the British hangman.
The office opening will be preceded by a white line picket on nearby Anne Street at 2pm highlighting the continued abuse of Irish Republican Prisoners.
Saoradh and the IRPWA would like to invite everyone to attend this event.
