Saoradh unequivocally condemn the attacks and brutality meted out by British Crown Forces in Lurgan yesterday at an Easter Commemoration organised by RSF.
In a well-planned operation which seen rural roads into Lurgan saturated with armed militia for up to an hour before the event took place and who then preceded to swamp the Kilwilkie Estate from all entrances and with batons drawn they moved in and arrested the colour party.
The scenes witnessed were beyond contempt: Our National flag trampled all over as baton drawn thugs intent on violence charged in not caring who was injured in the operation.
Yesterday in Lurgan we seen a new tactic employed by the British Crown Forces no doubt in response to Unionist politicians who in recent years have been squealing from the rooftops for arrests to be made during parades not afterwards and yesterday in Lurgan proved that they will go to any lengths to appease Unionists and ensure Republicans are put in their place.
Saoradh offer our solidarity to all those arrested and injured in yesterday’s disgraceful display of state violence and utter contempt for our National flag and indeed our Patriot Dead.
