Saoradh activist, Clíodhna McCool, has today been seized by the Crown Forces under the so-called “Terrorism Act”. In a clearly pre-planned operation, the heavily armed militia were laying in wait for Clíodhna and her partner, Stephen Murney, who were then stopped at a vehicle checkpoint when British state gunmen targeted them. The Newry based activist was then handcuffed and is currently being held for interrogation at a British Barracks.
It has also emerged that two other activists were also seized, Emmett McSheffery, while on his way to Junior McDaid House, Saoradh’s HQ in Derry, and National Executive member Joe Barr.
The British state has focused a sustained campaign of harassment, house raids and interrogation of Saoradh activists, since the Party was formed in September 2016.
Saoradh call for the immediate release of Clíodhna, Joe and Emmett. No amount of British Crown Force harassment will deter us from our revolutionary struggle.
