Britain’s War Machine to launch Display in South Down
The Revolutionary Republican party Saoradh has slammed the inclusion of Britain’s War Machine in an event due to be held in Newcastle, Co Down in the coming weeks.
The RAF will be involved in several displays along with a British military war Chinook as part of the so-called “Festival of Flight” which takes place on August 5.
Condemning the participation of the British Occupation Forces Saoradh representative Stephen Murney said “Earlier this week we were contacted by local residents in Newry after they discovered that at least one local community group is attending this event.
“Let us remind people that the British Army’s record in Ireland is one of death, destruction and murder. There are currently thousands of British soldiers garrisoned in the 6 counties. Republican activists have had their homes raided and searched by the British Army and the sinister SAS linked Special Reconnaissance Regiment have been deployed here to target Republicans.
Murney continued “They also armed, funded and colluded with Loyalist death squads who went on to wage a sectarian murder campaign of ethnic cleansing and they currently use our countryside as a training ground for their murderous exploits in other parts of the world.
“The British military has been responsible for the deaths of thousands of men, women and children in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the murder and execution of countless civilians including children here in Ireland.
Stephen concluded “For our part, Saoradh will continue to expose and resist the ongoing British military occupation in all shapes and guises. We would encourage all those who agree with our position to join us in assisting with that by helping to build a radical movement of socialist republican resistance.”
